Inserting/Replacing the battery
Alkali- manganese batteries are recommended for the measuring tool.
Press the latch of battery lid in the direction of the arrow and open the battery lid.Insert the supplied battery and make sure that the polarity is correct.
You should replace the battery when the battery indicator indicates .
If the tooI is not used for a long period of time, the battery must be removed.
Scanning
Put the tool on the surface of the object, and always move the tool in a straight line(as shown in the picture below) after choose the correct detect operating mode.
When the tool is on the surface of the object, the illuminated ring lights up green and signals operational readiness.
Measuring indicator i indicates the maximal amplitude above the centre of the object ; illuminate ring 1 lights up red and an audio signal sounds. For small and deeply embedded objects, ring 1 can continue to light up yellow, while there is no audio signal. To localise the object more precise, move the measuring tool repeatedly (3X) back and forth.
The fine scale j is automatically activated in wall operating modes. Fine scale j indicated in all amplitude when the object is below the center of the sensor or when the maxi-mum amplitude of measuring indicator i is reached. The indication"CENTER" k lights up additionally.
Wide objects in the base material are detected through a continuous, high amplitude of measuring indicators i and j. Ring1 lights up yellow. The duration of the high amplitude corresponds approximately with object width.
When very small or deeply embedded objects are being sought and measuring tooI repeatedly over the object in horizontal and vertical direction.Pay attention to the amplitude of fine scale j,additionally to the "CENTER k indication, which will then allow for precise detection.
When you drill hole on the wall, sawing or milling cut before, you must be through other sources of information, completes the protective measures to prevent the danger.Because the composition of the measurement results will be affected by environmental factors and the impact of the wall.Even if the instrument does not show any hidden objects within the
detection range,(The instrument does not sound signal and ring 1 light up green light),still could be dangerous.
Detection model
There are three type detect this product available: multi-functional wall detector model, metal model, charged wire model.Different detection requirements need to choose a different way.Select "metal" model, can reach a maximum depth of detection of metal. Select "Charged wire model "achieve the maximum depth of detection of charged wires.
Product indication lamp(See diagram label product mark number 5) can display the currently selected detection mode.
Charged wire model model
The operation mode "charged wire model"is suitable only fordetecting"live"conductors110-230V
Press on button, ring 1 and indication 5 lights up green(Abovethe button
)when a"live"conductor is detected,indication
appears on the display.
Because of detection the signal strength will be affected by theposition of the wire, move the measuring tool repeatedly over thearea to localise the "live"conductor several times. lt can be
indicated very accurately. When the measuring tool is very closeto the conductor, the iluminated ring 1 flashes red and the audiosignal beeps swiftly.
"Live"conductors can be detected easier when power consumersare connected to the sought conductor and switch on.
Under certain condition(such as below metal surfaces or behindsurfaces with high water content),"live' conductors cannot besecurely detected.
Static electricity can lead to inaccurate indication of electric lines, for example ,over a large range. To inprove the indication, placeyour free hand flat on the wall next to the measuring tool,in orderto remove the static electricity.
*Because in the process of construction, electricity is one of the
most dangerous factors ,security considerations, the three type in thedetection process, will give priority to charged wire.
Care
Keep the measuring tool clean and dry at all times to ensureproper and safe working.
- Do not immerse the tool in water or other fluids.
- Wipe away debris or contamination with a dry, soft cloth.Do notuse cleaning agents or solvents.
- ln order not to affect the measuring function, decalsstickers orname plates, especiall metal ones, may not be attached in thesensor area 13 on the front or back side of the measuring tool.
- Do not remove the contact pads 12 on the back.
- Do not open the instrument by yourself. Store and transport themeasuring tool only in the supplied soft package.
In case of repairs, send in the tool packed in its soft package.
